How to Eliminate Fear and Move Forward

In the course the 5 gifts of an Abundant Life, Dr. Harmony includes a lesson from the the 4T’s of Prosperity by Stretton Smith. The lesson is about moving through fear and anxiety and is called “Lowering the Veil of Anxiety”. The biblical verse is Matthew 6:31 “Do not be anxious”

Lowering the veil of anxiety means that when we are fearful of moving forward we should stop and consciously think about lowering the screen that keeps us from achieving our good.

It was actually taken from an episode of Star Trek. This is what Stretton wrote.

”Captiain Kirk and Spock were traveling through a tunnel when they saw some of their crew at the other end being tortured by the enemy. They rushed through the tunnel to rescue their friends, when suddenly, Kirk was stopped by an invisible screen. He couldn’t see what was blocking him, and he couldn’t get through. He looked like a mime washing a window. But Spock had walked right through! Kirk cried out to Spock, asking how Spock got through, but he, Kirk, could not?

Spock said it was an anxiety screen and that Kirk’s emotions, his anxiety, prevented him from getting through. If Kirk would lower the anxiety screen, he would be able to walk through. So Kirk stood back and imagined that invisible anxiety screen in front of him being lowered-until it was-and Kirk, free of all anxieties, stepped over the screen, and joined Spock. They went on to rescue their friend.

While I do this I also practice detachment. I will write about this in the next post.

I got a headache from Changing my thoughts

How many of us have heard the saying ”Change your thoughts and change your life.” I always considered myself a positive person who seesthe hope and good in life. However, when I started realizing exactly how many thoughts I had in a day I never realized what I was actually saying to myself. That’s when I got a headache, which was producing a lifeache.

Silently I was finding fault with others. Blaming the people in my life for not being who I thought they should be. What I discovered is that I wasn’t succeeding because I was not allowing prosperity into my life. Time to change. What I did is simple but definitely not easy.

When I started to get near the edge of what I call the rathole, I followed Michael Dlouhy’s advice. Michael tells people all the time. ” Just stop it. “If that isn’t enough he has provided a video from YouTube with Bob Newhart. It is entitled “Just Stop It”. It is when I say just stop it I create a void in my thoughts.

We all know nature hates a void. It is up to me to replace that negative thought. That is where the affirmations come in. “I am having fun building the largest network marketing business in the history of MLM through teamwork and edcuation.” I repeat this every time I get near. It is impossible to be angry and hopeful all at the same time.

Those negative thoughts are fears of mine that I have concocted and are tied to the 7 negative emotions the Napolean Hill talks about in “Think and Grow Rich”. It is when I stay in the positive emotions of joy, love, romance, and hope that my life and my world changes.

The most important thing to complete this is to say “thanks” to God or the Universe; and be grateful right where I am at. It is in gratitude that all things are possible.

How sharp is your ax?

Someone once asked Abraham Lincoln, “What would you do if you only had 4 hours to cut down a tree? Lincoln’s reply was, ” I would spend the first 3 hours sharpening the ax”.

So many times I want to know how to move every widget and plug in on my blog when really the success comes from spending the time in personal development.

Prosperity in MLM is about me helping other people achieve their success, but it is my prosperous mindset that has to be developed first. This sounds easy but the true word is consistency. Can I read 10 pages of a book ever day for a month? As Jeff Olson, author of the “The Slight Edge” says, “It is easy to do and easier not to do”.

Success is not an event but a journey. It is about all of us finding our reason or “WHY” to become successful. The prosperity comes after we uncover the reason that is hidden inside of us.

Why do so many people fail in Network Marketing?

It seems that I am constantly meeting distributors from many different companies who never seem to make it in MLM or Network Marketing. Their lack of success, in spite of doing everything they were told to do, still bedeviled them as to why everyone else was ‘succeeding’. I know this for a fact, because I was one of these people.

I had been told that if it wasn’t fun, than I wasn’t doing the business correctly. Well I was almost ready to throw in the towel when I discovered a Free e-book that has made my life a lot more fun and my business a lot easier.

I know look forward to meeting people and speaking with them about how I can help them succeed. What has been the transformation in my life from the simple little book? You will have to read Chapter 2 in order to get the answer to that question.

Revelations In MLM

I realized today that the big breathroughs come from doing the little baby steps every day. Yes, you can tell I am reading the book “The Slight Edge”. What a great book. It is all there in front of me, but the author Jeff Olson really phrases it differently so that I can see what I needed to do. Just 20 minutes a day of contacting friends on Facebook. Just 5 minutes of calling , increasing it by a minute a day. I really had an epiphany. Just do the little stuff consistently and it will become big stuff.

My cousins accountant use to tell her. “Watch out for the pennies, the hundreds will take care of themself”.

Are Multiple Streams of Income related to Trickle Down Economics

I think so.. In both cases neither work well.

Lately the buzz is Multiple Streams of Income. The internet is a giant “cattle call” and huge numbers of people every day will join your business. How to have 9,000 friends in 12 minutes is not the answer.

The reason I say this is that people like to build relationships. Each one of those “cattle called” have hopes, dreams, frustrations and life. It would be impossible to be able to connect with all those people. It would certainly not be sincere.

Another point to ponder is that companies, especially fast food companies that tried be everything to everyone didn’t do very well back in the 1980′s. When is the last time you saw a salad bar at Wendy’s. circa 1991. There is something to be said for the slogan, “We do Chicken Right”. We recognize that we have one main product that we are known for rather than “Deal of the Day”

I have yet to meet anyone who is making “killer money” doing this. They are all looking for the next person to make it happen for them. They are all looking for the get rich quick scheme of today. I worked with someone once who was into a least 25 different programs. What I realized is that these people DON’T want lasting relationships. They are “Serial Marketers” who strike and don’t care about the victims.

Ok, so what am I suggesting. How about this, instead of spending the next 2 years trying to get rich quick, how about spending it meeting, building and getting to know the people you are going to be in business with. How about not an energy shift of the mind. No more dividing and conquering, but uplifting and building. Yes it is less glamorous and certainly less ego stroking, but it is definitely most rewarding to hear someone say Thank-you.

I am always surprised by the number of internet marketers that offer to give me a 20 minute webinar for free. The actual training is just some hype to get me to buy into their deal. You see they never really wanted to train me.

Today is the first day of my blog and I welcome you to join in discussions. My mission is to help people who are in MLM succeed. Most people feel that their lack of success is their fault, but I contend you didn’t have a chance.

My statements are based on the book “Success in 10 Steps” by my friend and mentor Michael Dlouhy. Most people who read this book save year of frustration. Chapter 9 really helped me a lot.
